Can meditation help women cope with the menopause?

A team from the USA has used 'mindfulness-based stress reduction' (MSBR) to see if it will help with troublesome menopausal symptoms.

Fifteen women attended 8 weekly MSBR sessions. At the end of the study period they were interviewed and reported a 40% reduction in their hot flushes and an improvement in their quality of life. However, a larger scale study, comparing this to other treatment is needed before it can be recommended for treatment.
